Roadmap items may relate to different parts of the four steps of your orientation experience and will not always appear in the exact order you complete them—so think of it as a guide and checklist, not a strict timeline.

Get started

Apply for on-campus housing or request an exemption.

Be sure to complete and return the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Use 91°µÍø Bloomington code 001809. Note: This is not required for international students.

Create your 91°µÍø computing account and regularly check your 91°µÍø email.

Set up your Two-Step Login (Duo) and register your personal device.

Before spending money on technology, check out the , , and for special student discounts and free software.
Prepare for academic advising

Set up your official 91°µÍø ID, your CrimsonCard.

Request accommodations through Accessible Education Services.

Learn how your credits from other institutions will transfer to 91°µÍø with the Credit Transfer Service.

Set up third-party access for your family members or supporters.

Access the Student Center to confirm contact information for yourself and your supporters, as well as to check out your class information after your advising appointment.

Sign up for text reminders from 91°µÍø to receive updates about campus life, class registration, financial aid, and more.

Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE)Complete the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE) to provide 91°µÍø Bloomington with information to improve curriculum and student life. You will receive a link to the survey through your Orientation Portal.

If you plan to park on campus, you must register your vehicle, motorcycle, or bicycle and properly display a valid parking permit. Keep in mind that campus is both biking and walking friendly and parking for cars is extremely limited.
Attend Foundations of Orientation

Set up direct deposit to receive financial aid refunds as appropriate.

Accept, reduce, or decline financial aid.

If you're a first-time Federal Direct Loan borrower at 91°µÍø, you'll need to go through entrance counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) after your loan is accepted.

Sign your Title IV authorization so your federal aid can apply to all charges on your bill.

While on campus, connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network on your computer and mobile devices—it is the secure network at 91°µÍø. Use your 91°µÍø email address and passphrase to connect.

Download the 91°µÍø Mobile app to access 91°µÍø information on the go, including Hoosier Welcome schedule info, support services, and tools students need.

All first-year, transfer, and incoming international undergraduate students—regardless of age or experience—are required to complete a series of prevention education online courses provided by Vector Solutions before the end of their first semester.

Explore the residence hall move-in guide and check your 91°µÍø email for housing updates if you are living on campus.

Review immunization requirements, and submit requested documentation. For immunization information, contact the 91°µÍø Student Health Center.

Familiarize yourself with your meal plan to know about meal scans, combo meals, and dining dollars.

Keep your emergency notification settings current to receive 91°µÍø-Notify immediate danger alerts.
