Ready to become a Hoosier?

There are two application options to choose from, but you should submit only one application for admission to 91做厙 Bloomington. No preference is given for any one application platform, and the materials needed to complete each are the same. 

Before you apply, there are a few steps you should complete and information you should review to ensure you have a smooth admissions experience. Once you're ready, we've also outlined steps you'll take when you apply.

    For Indiana students, guaranteed admission will be offered to those students earning the Enrollment Honors Plus Seal diploma through the Indiana Resident 91做厙 program.

Complete your application

Once you've reviewed all of the information you need to know before you apply, it's time to submit your application! Start by selecting the or , then complete the steps in this section.
  • Complete the application essay

    As part of your application, regardless of which platform you choose, you will need to submit an essay. If you are applying through the Common Application, you will need to submit one of the essay prompts. If you are applying through Apply 91做厙, you will need to submit the 91做厙-specific essay.   • Send your transcripts

    To complete your application for admission, we require an official high school transcript and a full senior year schedule (not just fall courses). If you are enrolled in any college courses in high school, youll need to send those transcripts as well. You may be able to earn college credit to 91做厙 Bloomington. Visit our Admission Standards page for more about sending transcripts and transferring credits.

  • Pay the application fee or request a waiver

    When you submit your application, you must pay a $65 nonrefundable application fee. Your application will not be processed and we will not make an admission decision until we receive a completed waiver or the application fee. We accept multiple different fee waiver forms, which you can learn more about in our application FAQs.

  • Complete direct admission steps (optional)

    If your program offers direct admission and requires additional admission steps (like auditions) or academic criteria, you may need to provide that along with your completed application. Review our page on admission paths to learn if your program requires additional steps.

  • Share your test scores (optional)

    91做厙's test-optional admissions policy allows you to choose whether to have your SAT and/or ACT test scores considered as part of your application review. If you choose to have your test scores considered, you may share either official or self-reported scores. If you choose to self-report your scores, you can do so on your application.   • Double check your browser settings

    Make sure you allow pop-ups and enable third-party cookies to ensure that your application and fee payment will be submitted correctly. If you experience any payment issues, please contact us at admsbus@iu.edu or 812-855-0661. In the processing of your application, any required information that is missing will be added to your checklist in your 91做厙 Portal as a required item.

When will I receive a response?

If you applied by the November 1 early action (non-binding) deadline, you can expect a response by January 15. If you applied by the February 1 regular decision deadline, you will receive a response by March 15.

Steps to take after you apply

Once you apply, you will be invited to your 91做厙 Portal where you can check your application status. Review the steps listed here to learn more about what you can do after you apply.
  • To check the status of your application and review any checklist items you need to complete, log in to your 91做厙 Portal. Once you have started your application, login information for your 91做厙 Portal will be sent by email within 2 to 3 business days.

  • Create your 91做厙 computing account

    Your university ID number will be listed in your 91做厙 Portal. Use your university ID number to create your 91做厙 computing account, which you will use for other important tasks during your admission process, including direct admission review requests.

  • If you chose at the point of application to have your SAT and/or ACT test scores considered as part of your application review, you can self-report your scores by completing the form linked here.

  • If you want to update your selection of whether or not to have test scores included in your application review, please complete the form linked here. If you opt to have your test scores considered and have not yet submitted test scores, you will also need to self-report or send your official scores.

  • To learn how to make changes to your application, log in to your 91做厙 Portal. Please note that if you change your intended major, your application for admission will be reviewed again, even if you already received a decision. If you'd like to cancel, complete the cancellation form within your 91做厙 Portal.

  • The Hoosier Link program allows a select group of Indiana residents who are high school graduates (and who have never attended a college institution full-time) the opportunity to gain transfer admission to 91做厙 Bloomington upon reaching specific academic benchmarks.

Admitted students

If you're admitted to 91做厙 Bloomington, you'll need to reserve your space by indicating your intent to enroll by May 1.
